Spot the red umbrella at the tour starting point. If it's not visible, we regret that we won't be able to connect you with your guide once the tour begins.
What happens if the weather is unpredictable during the Toronto tour?
Dress according to the weather, but don’t worry: we travel through Toronto’s famous underground city from the surface to warm you up in winter, cool you down in summer, and give you a well-deserved break on rainy days.
Can I tip using USD, credit card, or other forms of payment?
Yes! We accept cash, credit cards, and all foreign currencies. Thank you!
Can I bring a stroller on the tour?
Yes! However, please note that there will be sections where stairs are required.
Where can I find parking close to the start location?
You can find paid parking at the Vancouver Convention Centre W-Lot. We recommend booking it for 3.5 hours or more.
Are there any ATMs nearby where I can withdraw Canadian cash?
Yes! There are ATMs at our midway stop and final stop.
Can I bring pets?
Unfortunately not. To respect the comfort of all guests, our tours are human-only. Please consider a private tour to accommodate any pets.
Is the tour suitable for children?
Yes, our guides are always mindful to keep the tour content clean for children. Please note the time commitment and walking distances required for the tour.
How much walking will I do?
Prepare to get your steps in! You will be on your feet for nearly 3 hours, with breaks to sit down throughout the tour. You will cover roughly 5 km or 3 miles on relatively flat city streets. If you have mobility concerns, consider a private tour for a more comfortable experience.
Is there a restroom break during the tour?
Yes! There are restroom facilities at the start location, midway stop, and final stop. Your guide will be happy to point them out.
Are there any refreshments available during the tour?
Yes! We will have a midway stop surrounded by cafes, restaurants, grocery stores, and more! You can also refill water bottles during the break.
Do I have to make a reservation or can I walk-up?
Due to high demand, we recommend booking in advance to secure your preferred day and time. Walk-ins are welcome if space is available.
Should I include children when booking?
Yes, please include children in the total number of people reserved.
Will the tour be cancelled because of the weather?
Our tours operate rain or shine. In extreme cases, we will contact reservations for cancellations or rebookings. Please dress according to the weather.
Is the Free Walking Tour really free?
That is up to you! There is no upfront cost when booking directly, and you can choose how much gratuity to leave with the guide based on your experience and budget. Please note, our tour guides' livelihood relies solely on your gratuities.
Why do I need to provide my credit card information when booking?
Offering Free Walking Tours exposes us to lots of spam bookings. We use the credit card information to verify authenticity. We charge a $2/person fee for no-shows or late cancellations (less than 24 hours).
How much gratuity should I tip at the end of the tour?
Your gratuity should reflect the quality and satisfaction you received. For guidance, $30/person lets your guide know that the tour was valuable.
If I cannot make it to a morning tour, can I go to the afternoon tour?
Potentially yes, if the tour is not already sold out.
I missed my morning tour. What can I do until the afternoon tour begins?
