Toronto in 2 Days: A Practical Itinerary
Updated 2026-10-26
Two days is enough to see Toronto’s core: the old town and markets, a few neighbourhoods, the waterfront and the skyline. This plan keeps most of the walking downtown and links to tours that fit each part of the day. Check each tour’s schedule on its booking page before you plan around it.
Day 1 morning: Old Town on foot
Start with the Old Town free walking tour, which meets at 35 Wellington St E and lasts about three hours. It is tip-based, and Spanish departures are also available.
Day 1 afternoon: St. Lawrence Market and the Distillery District
St. Lawrence Market is a few minutes’ walk from the old town. If you want a guided tasting, the Hungry Hogtown and Great Canadian Food Tour options both cover this area; the latter continues into the Distillery District.
Day 1 evening: the skyline
For a view of the city at dusk, the Romantic Interlude is a private twilight helicopter flight for two. Other helicopter flights run during the day.
Day 2 morning: Kensington Market
Spend the morning in Kensington Market. Food tours here include the Kensington Market International Food Tour and Taste the World.
Day 2 afternoon: the waterfront and Toronto Islands
Head to the waterfront and take the ferry to the Toronto Islands, or see the city by bike with the Toronto city bike tour or a bike rental.
Got a third day?
Use it for a day trip from Toronto. Niagara Falls is the classic choice; Muskoka and Bon Echo suit travellers who want nature.
